One Minute Wonders LIVE! Friday 27th January @ Take 5 + 7” vinyl album launch

More info at the One Minute Wonders site here: 1mw.co.uk

One Minute Wonder Winners

We still couldn’t include all 19 we wanted, but by slowing it down to 33 RPM we have managed to squeeze a couple more on to the One Minute Wonder 7”, taking it to 14 tracks.

The Single/Album hybrid will go out on the Ham, Spam and Jam label for as little as we are able to do it for… this is SUCH a grand selection of tunes, creatively more adventurous (and certainly less boring) than a load of that 3.5 minute nonsense, we just want to get people spinning it.

And so, featured are:

Valvetronix : The Beelips

Killing Time : Dan Foden

Sticky Bongo : sonofsamsounds

At Sea : Lowery

The Ballad Of Peach : Mark Thorby

Quadrahick : Mike Jackson

The Dell : Red Cassette

Helicopter Gunship : James Leeds

I Dreamt About Dying: PhilCivilian

The Travelling Knife : Emily Sargasso

Standard, as standard : danieljharvey

A hinge : Transept

When’s the right time to stop : davidpye

Sticky Situation : Girl in a Thunderbolt

OK - so we’ve finally picked the songs for the 1 Minute Wonders 7”. REALLY hard to trim it down, as there’s loads of great tracks.

Pleased that this has led folk to create stuff they normally wouldn’t - which really was the whole point of the exercise. SORRY, SORRY, SORRY if you didn’t make the final selection - we’re going to try and squeeze 12 tracks onto a 7” as it is!

Notable runners up that we wanted to include but couldn’t fit on:

Thief : Graham Barlight

Tiny Tim - Living In the Sunlight : Hostile Hams

Takeaway : Mr Jason

Tormentor : JET

The Dell : Red Cassette

Women Be Organising : Ben Winn

Sticky Situation : Girl in a Thunderbolt

Pianos : ThamesGatewayAudioDept

That was so productive we’re thinking about making it an annual event… hopefully we can squeeze a couple of these on the next one.
