Drowned in Norwich #1

We’ve started contributing a bi-monthly column ALL about Norwich Music to the music blog-behemoth that is Drowned in Sound

We’re super proud to have been asked to supply them with what’s up and down (mostly up) in Norwich Music. We’re all big fans of DiS and we think this will bring quite a bit of extra attention to a music scene we love and are deeply involved in.

New Feature - FREE Weekly Download

We are looking for Norwich based independent artists to submit their material for us to feature each week. We will showcase our favourites, so make sure they’re good songs and sound great.

It can be in any format, either send us a file and we’ll host it on the blog or send us links to stuff which is already available on SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Reverbnation, Facebook etc. etc. etc.

Open Music Experiment - Alan Southgate “Touchable Numbers”

Alan Southgate is looking to get people involved in making music with him. For the last year, he has been writing and recording one song every week, and uploading them to a blog. He wants the people who read the blog to choose which 13 of the 52 songs will sit together on an album.

More than that, he also wants to collaborate with as many people as possible, if you like a song and want to perform on it with him. Alan is hoping to upload some of the individual elements from songs so people can just get straight on with writing and performing around them.

Thought - End of an Era?

With the departure of Violet Violet this month following on from the ‘they-have-they-haven’t-they-have’ split of The Brownies, I couldn’t but help feel somewhat rosy eyed - it seemed after what felt like a golden age that this was the end of an era.
