News - Next Big Thing Semi Finalists Announced, Shannon Hope Shortlisted For Award and Bearsuit Behind the Scenes Video Footage!!
Future Radio announced the semi finalists of the Next Big Think Competition yesterday:
On Friday, a panel of judges, including representatives from Drowned in Sound, One Little Indian, Norwich Sound & Vision, Outline and the Future Radio music team had the unenviable task of whittling down 91 entries to the 12 semi finalists.
This year saw perhaps the widest range of entries - with everything from folk and hip hop featuring, as well as electronica and metal.
The 12 semi finalists who will battle it out for a place at the final are:
Semi final 1 (24th October 7.30pm at the B2 - £4) - Facebook Info
Semi final 2 (31st October 7.30pm at the B2 - £4) - Facebook Info
Following the two semi finals, the 6 finalists will perform at OPEN on Sunday November 14th for the chance to be crowned Next Big Thing winners for 2010.

In other news, Shannon Hope (ex-Glory Glory) has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Female’ award at the Access To Music ceremony, held at the Birmingham O2 Academy and hosted by Edith Bowman! WHOO! GO SHANNON.
