Free Download/Announcement - Alloy Ark - BLUE
The amazing Alloy Ark have announced a brand new free download! It’s called BLUE and it’s incredible, go get it RIGHT NOW along with another track, the equally as good All I Want!
If you notice a slight change of direction, it’s probably because they’ve announced two new members - Tom and Jacob join Doug and Dani to make an all new four piece!
To celebrate, they’ve announced some gigs! Go see them at one of the following dates:
13th Sep - Bull and Gate, London
16th Sep - Norwich Arts Centre
17th Sep - Central Library, Nottingham
LIGHTS NEEDED
We need to borrow torches/battery powered lamps/bike lights to light a tiny town made of cardboard. We’ll need them on Saturday 3rd / Sunday 4th September. Can you help? Get in touch!
Gig - Get on the Soapbox Website Launch Party - Karma Kafe 02.09.2011 £3/£2
TOO HUGE a lineup to list, look at the flyer.
Convention - Norwich Sound & Vision 2011 - 29.09.2011 - 01.10.2011 £Various (PANELIST JUST ADDED - DAVE ROWNTREE - DRUMMER OF BLUR)
Yay and whoopie, Norwich Sound and Vision is back, and bigger than last year. The 3 day festival includes musical-live-gigs by:
“Dels, Bo Ningen, Context MC, Esben and the Witch, Beth Jeans Houghton, Fever Fever, Sargasso Trio, Nosound, Ex-Wise Heads (Porcupine Tree’s Colin Edwin and Henry Cow’s Geoff Leigh), the album launch/debut of Slow Electric, The Mariner’s Children, Joshua Fisher, Spokes, Denis Jones, Antlered Man, Laish, Grenouilles, Bella Spinks, Alex Ross, Jack Savoretti, The Thinking Men, Helsinki Wins, Georgios Hadjissmichael, Ellen and the Escapades, Takeda, Ethan Ash and Alex Sheppard + More.”
On Friday and Saturday there will be all day conferences about the music industry, where it’s all heading, what you can do to succeed within it and other interesting and informative stuff. There will be guest speakers including:
“Jim Mawdsley (Generator), Keith Harris (PPL), Trevor McName (Jalapeno Records), Dennis Collopy (Menace Music), Nicky Bignell (BBC), Wendy Roby (Drowned In Sound), Matthew Britton (Pigeon Post), James Penycate (ooh Brilliant), Joe Muggs (Word/Mixmag/Dazed & Confused), Laura Snapes (NME), John Robb (Journalist, author, musician), Stuart Hobday (Escalator Music), plus many more to be added soon!”
If you are a musician you REALLY MUST be there, if you ignore this stuff you are ignoring your own future as a professional musician.
Anyway, this is a LAME write up and NS&V have supplied very very much more accurate and well written information right here:
